A roller tip replaces the recessed shoe contact surface, providing consistent center alignment, reducing operating friction, reducing cycle drag, and increasing oil irrigation. The wear surface is increased to over 1.7 inches of rotating case hardened tool steel, which stands to lengthen the lifespan of a rocker arm exponentially.

Oil feed holes inside the pocket allow constant oil flow to the fulcrum, while oil grooves draw lubrication to the shaft with each cycle.

Computer engineering combined with expert tooling allow extreme rocker ratio precision, which is critical to consistent lift and predictable valve operation.

High tensile strength billet 7000AQ series aluminum rocker body, accompanied by roll formed threading, provides one of the sturdiest rockers on the market today. Additionally, the unique cutaways earn this product a comparatively light weight at no expense to rocker strength.

Large diameter 10mm x 38 inch chrome moly studs clamp the assemblies to the heads. The adjusting screws, 3/8-24 chrome moly, have a redesigned, stronger cup end which still accepts the VW pushrod tip. Accompanied by aircraft retaining rings and custom thrust shims, this assembly sacrifices nothing in terms of industrial material quality.

A centerless ground, heat treated and nitrided, 20mm 4140 chrome moly shaft supports the rocker assembly, replete with provisions for end support and aircraft quality aluminum stands.

VW Type1 Rockers

As of the end of March, 2012, all of Pauter Type 1 rockers have been transitioned to non-needle bearing type (as pictured above) where the heat treated aluminum body will ride directly on the hardened and nitrided shaft. This type of fulcrum joint has proven itself over years of testing and in fact this form of contact wear surface replicates what is and has been common to piston/wristpin joints in millions of vehicles over the past century.
Latest version feeds oil to shaft and roller tip/valve spring/guide areas of valvetrain through rifle drilled, heat treated and nitrided oil-through adjuster screws.
